ANALISIS STRATEGI GURU DALAM MEMBANGUN KEDISIPLINAN SISWA DI SDN SEPULU 1

Abstract

Discipline is a vital trait that should be developed from elementary school, as it impacts both the learning process and the growth of students' character. Teachers play a crucial role in fostering discipline through various teaching methods that match the students' characteristics. This research aims to examine the ways teachers encourage student discipline and recognize the challenges encountered by teachers at SDN Sepulu 1. The study adopted a qualitative method with a case study framework. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document reviews, and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman approach, which includes stages like data reduction, data presentation, and reaching conclusions. The findings indicated that teachers employed strategies such as managing class time, starting lessons, delivering content, motivating students, classroom management, serving as role models, and applying rewards and penalties. Nevertheless, some strategies, like explaining learning goals, leveraging learning materials, and providing rewards, have not been fully optimized. The main challenges faced include limited support from parents, insufficient student comprehension of the material, a lack of awareness about discipline, and poor concentration in learning. The study concluded that successfully nurturing student discipline relies on the consistency of teaching strategies and family support. It is suggested that schools enhance collaboration with parents and boost learning innovations to aid in developing students' discipline.
