Publication Ethics

To maintain the quality of manuscripts and avoid publication violations/plagiarism during the publishing process, the editorial board establishes the publication ethics of the Cendekia Journal. This publication ethics rule applies to authors, editors, peer reviewers, and journal/manuscript managers. The publication ethics adhere to The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Author Ethics

Reporting: Authors must provide information about the process and results of their research to the editorial board honestly, clearly, comprehensively, and maintain their research data properly and securely.

Originality and plagiarism: Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript to the editorial board is original, written by themselves, sourced from their own ideas and thoughts, and not plagiarized from others' writings or ideas. Authors are strictly prohibited from attributing cited references to other people.

Avoidance of duplicate submission: Authors must inform that the submitted manuscript to the editorial board has not been submitted to other journal publishers/publications. If redundant submission to other publishers is found, the editorial board will reject the submitted manuscript.

Author status: Authors must inform the editorial board that they have competence or qualifications in a specific expertise field relevant to the published field, i.e., librarianship. Authors submitting manuscripts to the editorial board are the primary authors (co-authors), so if issues arise during the manuscript publication process, they can be promptly resolved.

Manuscript writing errors: Authors must immediately inform the editorial board if errors are found in the manuscript writing, whether from the review process or editing. Writing errors include name spelling, affiliation/institution, citations, and other writings that may diminish the meaning and substance of the manuscript. If this happens, authors must promptly propose manuscript corrections.

Disclosure of conflicts of interest: Authors must understand the scientific publication ethics above to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, ensuring the smooth and safe processing of manuscripts.

Editor Ethics

Publication decisions: Editors must ensure a thorough, transparent, objective, fair, and wise manuscript review process. This forms the basis for editors to decide whether to reject or accept a manuscript. In this regard, the editorial board acts as a manuscript selection team.

Publication information: Editors must ensure that manuscript writing guidelines for authors and other stakeholders are accessible and clearly readable, both in print and electronic versions.

Distribution of peer-review manuscripts: Editors must ensure the distribution of manuscripts and reviewer materials for review, as well as clearly inform reviewers of the manuscript review terms and processes.

Objectivity and neutrality: Editors must edit manuscripts objectively, neutrally, and honestly, without discriminating based on gender, business interests, ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group differences, or authors' nationalities.

Confidentiality: Editors must safeguard all information, especially related to authors' privacy and manuscript distribution.

Disclosure of conflicts of interest: Editors must understand the scientific publication ethics above to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, ensuring the smooth and safe manuscript publication process.

Reviewer Ethics

Objectivity and neutrality: Reviewers must be honest, objective, unbiased, independent, and only advocate for scientific truth. The manuscript review process must be conducted professionally without discriminating based on gender, business interests, ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group differences, or authors' nationalities.

Clarity of reference sources: Reviewers must ensure that the manuscript's reference/citation sources are appropriate and credible (accountable). If errors or deviations in writing reference sources/citations are found, reviewers must promptly inform the editorial board for correction by the author according to the reviewer's notes.

Effectiveness of peer review: Reviewers must respond to manuscripts sent by the editorial board and work within the set manuscript review time (peer-review) (maximum of 2 weeks). If additional time is needed for manuscript review, reviewers must promptly report (confirm) to the editorial secretariat.

Disclosure of conflicts of interest: Reviewers must understand the scientific publication ethics above to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, ensuring the smooth and safe manuscript publication process.

Journal Management Ethics

Decision-making: Journal managers/editorial boards must elucidate the organization's mission and objectives, especially regarding policy formulation and journal publication decisions without any particular interest.

Freedom: Journal managers must provide freedom to reviewers and editors to create a comfortable working atmosphere and respect authors' privacy.

Assurance and promotion: Journal managers must guarantee and protect intellectual property rights (copyrights), as well as transparently manage funds received from third parties. Additionally, journal managers must publish and promote published results to the public by ensuring the usefulness of the manuscript.

Disclosure of conflicts of interest: Journal managers must understand the scientific publication ethics above to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, ensuring the smooth and safe manuscript publication process.
