IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM PADA KELAS TAHASSUS DI MADRASAH ALIYAH WHATHONIYAH ISLAMIYAH KEBARONGAN
Abstrak
ABSTRACT: This study is a descriptive qualitative field research aimed at understanding the implementation of Islamic Religious Education in the Tahassus class. The data collection methods used in this research include observation and interviews. These methods were employed to gather data and information from the field to understand the learning activities in the Tahassus class at Madrasah Aliyah Wathoniyah Islamiyah (MAWI) Kebarongan. The results of the study indicate that: (1) The Tahassus class at MAWI Kebarongan is designed for students who graduated from general junior high schools (SMP) rather than Islamic junior high schools (MTs). The Tahassus class consists of three levels: Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3. The learning materials provided in this class are simpler compared to regular classes. (2) The implementation of the Tahassus class for Islamic Religious Education subjects is highly effective in improving the understanding of Islam among students who initially had weak religious foundations. (3) The supporting factors include the strong backing of parents, the majority of teachers who are alumni of Islamic boarding schools, and the Islamic environment, which makes the implementation of Islamic values easier. (4) The inhibiting factors are the students' lack of motivation, particularly their reluctance to memorize and repeatedly recite verses from the Qur'an, hadiths, and classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), which they are required to study. The primary reason for this is that these students are graduates of general schools, which tend to have limited focus on Islamic religious education.
